A statement from Chef Keeyoung:
After a lot of thought and tough conversations, I’ve made the decision to close Chingu in Westport. This choice wasn’t easy, but it’s what’s best for my health and my family—especially after welcoming our baby boy this past March.
For the past three years, Chingu has been my heart. You’ve shown up for us—whether you were grabbing takeout, dining in, joining a pop-up, or letting us cater your celebrations. I’m incredibly grateful to have shared Korean food and culture with you.
To my amazing team: thank you. You’ve been the backbone of this place—hardworking, passionate, and full of heart. Chingu wouldn’t have been Chingu without you.
While this chapter is closing, the story continues. You’ll still see us through sauces at @sura.eats, products from @chingu.soju, pop-ups, caterings, and more. And you’ll see even more food offerings soon at our sister café @chingucoffeeco.
